The compact 8mm-family formats found in millions of home camcorders from the 1980s through the early digital era.
MiniDV

Have Tapes From Outside the United States?
We can handle many PAL and SECAM recordings. These are recording standards rather than unique cassette shapes, so an overseas VHS tape may look exactly like a normal VHS cassette. If you know where the tape came from, label it for us.

Ship your tapes to our Atlanta facility or bring them in if you are local. We recommend a sturdy box and a tracked major carrier for shipped orders.
We Call When They Arrive
We call you the day your shipment arrives. We confirm the approximate scope, answer questions, and collect enough additional payment to bring the order to 50% before production.
We Transfer & Return
We digitize your tapes in-house, prepare your chosen delivery method, collect the remaining balance when the project is complete, and return your originals.

Families often have more — or fewer — tapes than they first estimate. Starting with $29 lets us receive the actual collection, confirm the approximate scope with you, and base the project on what is really there.

You Do Not Need Perfect Tapes to Get Started
Old videotape collections are rarely neat. Labels fade, cases disappear, formats get mixed together, and some tapes have not been played in decades. That is normal.
Send the Tapes You Have
You do not have to know what is on every cassette. We can transfer unlabeled tapes just like labeled ones.
VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, MiniDV and other formats can arrive together. You do not need to separate everything perfectly before sending it.
If a tape looks old, dirty, damaged, or simply has not been played in years, send it or call us first. We can evaluate what is practical before proceeding.
Please Do Not Try to “Fix” a Fragile Tape Yourself
If a cassette is cracked, the tape is exposed, or something looks mechanically wrong, avoid forcing it into an old VCR or camcorder just to see what is on it.
Give us a call instead. A small problem can become a much larger one if damaged tape is pulled through aging equipment.

Straightforward Pricing for Your Videotapes
Most customers pay $20 per standard videotape. Special formats and tapes requiring repair cost more because they require additional equipment, handling or preparation.
This is the everyday price paid by customers who order online or bring their tapes directly to us.
Beta, PAL & SECAM
These formats add $20 per tape to the normal videotape transfer price.
U-Matic
U-Matic requires specialized equipment and considerably more production work, so the transfer price is $75 per tape.
Tape Repair
If a tape requires repair before it can be transferred — including broken tape, mold, mildew or similar problems — the repair charge is $30 per affected tape.
Per Media Format
Video has a $30 minimum. One standard VHS tape is therefore $30, while two standard tapes would be $40.

Return Shipping Is Simple
Completed orders of $200 or more include free return shipping. Orders under $200 have a $15 return-shipping charge. Your original tapes come back to you after the project is finished.

Your recordings are converted to modern digital files. Customers commonly choose a USB or USB-C flash drive, cloud delivery, DVDs, or a combination of delivery methods.
Is it safe to ship my original videotapes?
